69-year-old man accuses son of stealing $80 in coins from his car

By Belize Live News Staff: Police are investigating a theft in Carmelita Village, Orange Walk District, after a man reported that $80 in coins were stolen from his vehicle.

According to reports, around 6:00 p.m. on Monday, November 3rd, 2025, a 69-year-old Belizean laborer of Carmelita Village heard the door of his grey Honda Accord slam shut while at home.

Upon checking, he saw his son, Mukiri Ordonez, 29, seated behind the steering wheel. When the father questioned him, Mukiri reportedly exited the vehicle and ran off without replying.

The 69-year-old man later discovered that a plastic bag containing $80 in coins was missing from the car.

Police have recorded a statement from the complainant, and are investigating the matter.
