Police detain suspect after armed robbery in Bullet Tree

By Belize Live News Staff: A man is in police custody following an armed robbery that unfolded this morning on Guana Belly Road in Bullet Tree Village, Cayo District.

Authorities say the suspect entered a business armed with a firearm and demanded money before attempting to flee the area. Quick police response led to his capture shortly after the incident, and officers were able to recover several items believed to be connected to the robbery.

Investigators are currently interviewing witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage to confirm the sequence of events and determine if the suspect acted alone. Police presence has been significantly increased in Bullet Tree following the recent murder of Canadian national Marty Thorne and a vehicle theft reported in the same area last week.

Residents have expressed growing concern over the recent spike in violent incidents, urging authorities to strengthen patrols and community watch programs.

The Cayo Police Formation has assured the public that the village remains under active surveillance as investigations continue.

BLN will provide more updates as new details emerge.
