By Belize Live News Staff: A daring daylight robbery has left staff at the Marketing Board in Orange Walk shaken after a masked gunman stormed the office and escaped with more than $20,000 in cash.
Reports indicate that around 9:30 a.m., the suspect entered the compound, holding a female security guard at gunpoint, before heading directly to the cashier’s station.
Once inside, the armed man demanded money, grabbed a cash bag, and swiftly fled on a motorcycle, heading toward an unknown direction.
Police officers responded immediately and canvassed the area, but so far, no arrests have been made. Investigators believe the suspect had prior knowledge of the office’s operations and cash handling routines.
Authorities have since increased patrols in the area and are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers Belize or the nearest police station.
