Police search for missing San Jose baker last seen in Orange Walk

By Belize Live News Staff: Authorities are searching for Melvin Rigoberto Salazar, a 30-year-old baker from San Jose Village, Orange Walk, who has been missing for over a week after failing to return home or show up for work.

His father, Rigoberto Salazar, told police that Melvin had traveled to Belize City for work on October 25 and was last in contact on October 29, when he said he would return home by November 1. When he did not arrive, the family tried calling his phone and later learned from his workplace that he had not reported for duty.

A friend allegedly saw Melvin in Orange Walk Town, but since then, all attempts to locate him have been unsuccessful. Police have launched an investigation and distributed his photo to all stations.

Melvin Salazar is described as short, medium-built, brown complexion, bald-headed, and brown-eyed, with a tattoo of the name “Christian” on his chest.

Authorities are asking the public to come forward with any information that may assist in locating Melvin and reuniting him with his family.
