Guinea Grass woman catches man stealing limes from her yard

By Belize Live News Staff: A Guinea Grass woman’s lime tree became the target of a petty theft on Wednesday afternoon when she caught a man red-handed stealing fruit from her yard.

Police say that at around 3:45 p.m., the woman spotted a man—later identified as Hector Salam—picking limes from her property without permission. The total value of the stolen limes is $36.00, but the act prompted her to immediately report the matter to the Orange Walk Police.

Investigators recovered a black school bag with limes inside and a black 24-inch Golden Hurricane bicycle, believed to be linked to the suspect. A Scenes of Crime Technician processed and photographed the evidence.

Authorities have issued a wanted notice for Hector Salam, and court action has been requested.
