By Belize Live News Staff: As October draws to a close, Belizeans can expect sunny and cool weather conditions, according to the National Meteorological Service of Belize. A mild north to northwesterly airflow continues to influence the country’s weather, bringing clear skies and stable conditions.
Today’s forecast indicates sunny skies with a few cloudy periods, while tonight will be mostly clear. The outlook for the day and night calls for little to no rainfall, with forecasters describing conditions as calm and seasonal.
Winds will blow from the north to northwest at 10 to 15 knots, generating choppy seas and waves between three and five feet. Fisherfolk and boat operators are advised to take standard precautions.
Temperatures remain comfortable, with highs of 83°F (28°C) along the coast, 85°F (29°C) inland, and 74°F (23°C) in the hills, cooling down to 70°F (21°C), 64°F (18°C), and 60°F (16°C) overnight.
At 3:00 a.m., Hurricane Melissa was centered near 35.9N, 64.0W, or about 255 miles north of Bermuda, moving northeast at 41 mph with maximum sustained winds of 90 mph. The hurricane poses no threat to Belize, according to forecaster Catherine Cumberbatch.
The extended forecast for Saturday and Saturday night continues to project fair and cool weather with minimal rainfall. Sunrise was at 5:50 a.m., with sunset expected at 5:21 p.m.
As Belize says goodbye to October, forecasters note that the country is closing the month on a calm note, with bright skies, cooler temperatures, and stable weather marking the transition into November.
