By Belize Live News staff: The Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), in collaboration with the Ministry of Investment through the Investment Policy and Compliance Unit (IPCU) and the Belize Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Association, has announced the opening of applications for a new digital training programme designed to equip Belizeans with essential higher-tier global digital services skills.
The initiative, titled “Pilot Project and Policy for Higher-Tier Global Digital Services from Belize,” is funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) under its Economic Growth in the Caribbean programme, which supports innovative solutions to drive private investment and sustainable development in the region.
The project offers 50 training spaces to Belizeans across the country, running from November 12 to December 19, 2025. Participants will receive specialized instruction to help them thrive in the Global Digital Services (GDS) sector.
The training will be delivered in a hybrid format, combining weekly evening virtual sessions with a five-day, face-to-face bootcamp in Belize City from November 24 to 28, 2025. Courses will be hosted through an online Learning Management System, making them accessible to participants nationwide.
Training tracks are available at entry, intermediate, and advanced levels, covering a range of high-demand digital fields, including cloud engineering, cybersecurity, data analytics, IT helpdesk and CRM integration, AI readiness, web design, agile and scrum project management, and digital marketing.
The courses are free of cost and open to BPO workers and students at the high school, junior college, and university levels. They will be conducted by an international consortium of digital trainers, including UK-based Rhics Ltd., Belize-based Chamberlain Consulting Ltd., and Socias Ltd.
Interested individuals can apply at www.belizegds.com/programmes
by creating an account, completing a web-based assessment, and being assigned to a learning track based on their strengths.
The Ministry encourages all Belizeans to take advantage of this opportunity to strengthen their digital skills and position themselves for success in the fast-growing global services industry.
