By Belize Live News Staff: Belize City police are investigating the discovery of a decomposed body found earlier today in one of the city’s neighborhoods.
According to initial reports, the body appeared to have what authorities believe to be a gunshot wound to the back of the head. Police are treating the case as a suspected homicide.
Scenes of Crime personnel have processed the area, and the body was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Investigators are working to identify the deceased and appeal to anyone with information that could assist in the investigation to contact the nearest police station or Crime Stoppers Belize.
