Cloudy skies and showers continue across Belize

By Belize Live News Staff: The National Meteorological Service says moist and unstable conditions continue to dominate Belize’s weather, bringing cloudy skies, showers, and thunderstorms across most areas today.

Forecaster Francisca Wellington reports that skies will remain mostly cloudy throughout the day and night with showers, periods of rain, and isolated thunderstorms, especially over central and northern Belize.

Winds will blow from the east to southeast at 10 to 20 knots, and seas will be choppy with waves between three to five feet. Temperatures are expected to reach highs of 87°F along the coast, 92°F inland, and 80°F in the hills. Nighttime lows will be around 78°F on the coast, 72°F inland, and 68°F in the hills.

In the tropical weather outlook, a broad area of low pressure associated with a tropical wave, identified as AL95, continues to generate disorganized showers and thunderstorms over the tropical central Atlantic. The system has a medium chance of development over the next 48 hours but poses no threat to Belize at this time.

For Tuesday and Tuesday night, forecasters expect no major changes in weather conditions, with continued moisture and instability keeping skies mostly cloudy and rainfall possible across the country.

Residents are advised to keep umbrellas handy and remain cautious on the roads as showers may cause localized flooding in low-lying areas.
