By Belize Live News Staff: Travelling from the United Kingdom and Europe to Belize will soon be easier than ever before. Starting December 8, Air Canada will launch a new flight route connecting Montréal-Trudeau International Airport to Philip Goldson International Airport in Belize City — allowing UK-based and European travellers to reach Belize in a single day for the first time.
Passengers can take a morning flight from London to Montréal, then connect directly to Belize after a short layover, landing in Belize that same evening. The new route also opens same-day connections for travellers from more than 20 European cities, including Manchester, Edinburgh, Dublin, Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, Geneva, Madrid, Rome, Lisbon, Athens, and Vienna.
Currently, travellers heading to Belize from Europe must make an overnight stop in the United States or Mexico. This new link eliminates that delay, offering a seamless travel experience for those eager to explore Belize’s tropical beaches, jungles, and cultural sites.
Anthony Mahler, Minister of Tourism, Youth, Sports, and Diaspora Relations, welcomed the announcement, saying, “We are especially excited about increased accessibility and affordability for European travellers and the continued growth of the Canadian market. With this new same-day connection, Belize stands ready to welcome new and returning visitors to immerse themselves in Belize’s unique natural and cultural attractions.”
Tourism officials say the new route is expected to boost Belize’s visibility in the European travel market and strengthen ties with Canada — one of the country’s fastest-growing tourism sources.
