“Kimmy Boo” pleads guilty to Facebook robbery, fined $505

By Belize Live News Staff: A Belize City woman who made headlines last year for luring a man through Facebook and robbing him of cash and seafood is back before the courts.

Kimane Garbutt, known as “Kimmy Boo,” has changed her plea from not guilty to guilty in connection with the November 2024 incident. She was accused of arranging a meeting with a man and later stealing $730 in cash and seafood, including lobster and snapper.

Appearing before the magistrate’s court on Wednesday, Garbutt was fined $505 for theft. She told the court she had been pregnant at the time and claimed the complainant had promised her money. The Magistrate accepted her plea and ordered her to pay the fine by November 30, 2025. Failure to do so will result in a three-month prison sentence.
