Belmopan mother begs for help as son’s mental health crisis escalates

By Belize Live News Staff: A mother in Belmopan has issued an urgent public appeal for assistance with her son, who is battling severe mental health challenges.

The mother says she reached out to police for help but was told that they do not handle mental health cases, leaving her with no clear path for support. The situation has deteriorated to the point where she no longer feels safe at home.

Her son has reportedly warned her, saying: “If you know what’s good for you, leave me alone.”

Fearing for her safety and desperate to secure proper care for her son, the mother has turned to the public for help. She emphasized that she does not want punishment or harm to come to her child, only the right treatment and support.

“This mother is desperate and afraid,” a local community page shared, echoing her plea.

Anyone who can assist in connecting her to the proper mental health services is urged to contact her directly at 632-9736.
