By Belize Live News Staff: Police are investigating a stabbing incident that has left a man hospitalized in critical condition and his wife detained.
On Tuesday afternoon, police were called to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital after receiving reports of an injured man. There they found 40-year-old Derrick Olivera suffering from multiple stab wounds. Investigations revealed that Olivera and his wife were at home in the Lords Bank area when an argument broke out. During the confrontation, the wife reportedly stabbed Olivera several times with a knife.
He was admitted to the KHMH in critical condition. Police have since detained his wife pending charges as the investigation continues.
