By Belize Live News Staff: For today, the National Meteorological Service is forecasting cloudy skies with occasional sunny breaks. A few showers and thunderstorms will affect the country through the afternoon hours before becoming generally isolated tonight, except in the south where additional activity is expected.
Marine conditions will be somewhat rough as winds from the east to northeast at 5 to 15 knots will produce choppy seas and wave heights between 3 and 5 feet.
Temperatures remain typical for the season with the coast expected to see daytime highs of 88 degrees Fahrenheit and nighttime lows of 82. Inland areas will be hotter with highs of 93 degrees and lows of 73, while cooler conditions are expected in the hills with highs of 82 and lows of 68.
Forecasters assure that tropical cyclone development is not anticipated across the North Atlantic Basin within the next 48 hours. Conditions for Friday and Friday night are projected to be mostly fair with isolated showers, though the south will continue to see slightly higher chances of rainfall.
Tide tables show a low tide at 7:31 this morning followed by a high at 1:13 p.m. Another low occurs at 7:07 tonight before the next high at 12:58 a.m. Sunrise this morning was at 5:38 and sunset will be at 6:09 this evening.
