Hot day ahead with inland highs near 95°F

Hot temperatures and fair skies expected across Belize today

By Belize Live News Staff: A light and relatively dry easterly airflow continues to dominate Belize’s weather, bringing mostly fair conditions with only limited rainfall. Belizeans can expect mostly sunny skies with a few cloudy spells today, while tonight will be partly cloudy. Showers will be isolated, though a few more may develop over southern and inland areas during the afternoon or evening.

Winds will blow from the east to southeast at 5–10 knots, seas remain slight with waves between 1–3 feet. Temperatures will peak at 89°F (32°C) along the coast, 95°F (35°C) inland, and 83°F (28°C) in the hills.

At 6:00 a.m., Hurricane Erin was located near latitude 29.6N, longitude 73.7W, about 560 miles west-southwest of Bermuda. Erin is moving north-northwest at 13 mph with maximum sustained winds of 100 mph, but the system poses no threat to Belize.

Looking ahead, Thursday and Thursday night will bring cloudy intervals with isolated showers, inland thunderstorms during the afternoon, and a few showers over southern Belize at night.
