23-year-old man dies in accidental stabbing while doing BBQ in Progresso Village

By Belize Live News Staff: Police are investigating the death of 23-year-old Pablo Bull, who died on Saturday, August 16, in what police describe as an accidental stabbing incident in Progresso Village, Cayo District.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Hilberto Romero stated that police officers visited San Ignacio Hospital, where Bull’s body was identified. Initial investigations revealed that Bull was at home with his common-law wife, Silvia Chanek, preparing to barbecue when the tragedy occurred.

“He was holding the knife, and he was about to get some meat ready to do some barbecue. He stumbled and fell, and the knife caused his injury,” Romero told reporters.

Romero emphasized that there are no signs of foul play, and police found no history of domestic disputes between the couple. At the time of the incident, two other persons were inside the house, further confirming the account of an accident.

A post-mortem examination will be conducted to officially determine the cause of death.
