By Belize Live News Staff: A tropical wave passing over the region is driving widespread showers and unstable conditions across Belize today, according to the Belize National Meteorological Service.
The 24-hour forecast indicates partly cloudy to overcast skies, with periods of rain and isolated thunderstorms expected across most areas, with a higher concentration over southern Belize.
Marine conditions will be challenging today. Winds are blowing from the east at 10 to 20 knots with higher gusts, contributing to choppy to rough seas and wave heights between 3 and 7 feet. A Small Craft Caution has been issued, and operators are advised to be vigilant when navigating near heavy showers.

Coastal areas: 29°C/27°C (84°F/80°F)
Inland: 30°C/23°C (86°F/73°F)
Mountainous regions: 24°C/20°C (76°F/68°F)
The outlook for Wednesday calls for continued cloudy weather with a few showers and isolated thunderstorms, mainly over southern and central areas, decreasing later in the day.
Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Dexter, located over 300 miles north of Bermuda, continues to move through the Atlantic. It poses no threat to Belize, according to the latest advisory.
Today’s high tides are at 6:25 AM and 8:43 PM, with low tides at 2:31 PM and again at 12:53 AM Wednesday.
