Moist and unstable conditions expected as tropical wave moves across Belize

By Belize Live News Staff: A tropical wave crossing the region is bringing moist and unstable weather conditions to Belize today, according to the National Meteorological Service. The 24-hour forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies with a few sunny breaks during the day and cloudy spells tonight.

Showers and isolated thunderstorms are likely across the country. This morning, central coastal and northern areas will be most affected. By afternoon, activity is expected to shift inland, while southern Belize may see more rain and thunderstorms tonight.

Marine conditions are relatively calm, with east to northeast winds at 5 to 10 knots and seas in a slight state, with waves between 1 to 3 feet.

Temperatures remain warm and humid across the country:

Coast: 86°F high | 78°F low (30°C | 26°C)

Inland: 90°F high | 73°F low (32°C | 23°C)

Hills: 78°F high | 67°F low (26°C | 19°C)

Looking ahead to Wednesday, showers and thunderstorms are expected to linger over northern, central, and inland areas, before becoming more isolated by nightfall—except in the south, where rain may continue.

There are no tropical cyclones expected to form in the North Atlantic Basin over the next 48 hours.
