By Belize Live News Staff: Cabinet has approved a series of policy actions aimed at strengthening Belize’s education, data, and international treaty commitments.
Among the approvals was the enactment of the Draft National Policy for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), which will serve as a framework for modernizing and expanding TVET in line with labour market demands.
Additionally, Cabinet endorsed Belize’s second National Strategy for the Development of Statistics, a five-year roadmap led by the Statistical Institute of Belize to improve national data systems through 2028.
On the international front, Cabinet gave the green light for Belize to accede to two key treaties: the Protocol on the Privileges and Immunities of the International Seabed Authority and the Convention for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons in Latin America and the Caribbean.
These actions reflect Belize’s ongoing efforts to modernize domestic institutions and uphold international peace and disarmament standards.
