By Belize Live News Staff: A slightly moist easterly airflow is prevailing across Belize today, setting the stage for scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms.
According to the National Meteorological Service, most of the country will experience a combination of sunshine and brief cloudy spells. Showers are expected to be few but could occur at any time during the day. The pattern is forecasted to continue into the night with isolated rainfall and occasional thunderstorm activity.
Winds remain gentle from the east at 5 to 15 knots, generating light sea conditions. Wave heights range from 2 to 4 feet, allowing for safe navigation by most vessels. Coastal temperatures will hover around 86°F during the day and drop to 77°F at night. Inland areas are warmer, reaching 92°F and falling to 72°F after sunset. Mountainous regions will see daytime highs of 78°F and nighttime lows of 66°F.
The tropical weather outlook remains favorable, with no signs of tropical cyclone development over the North Atlantic in the next two days. This continues to provide a window of stability even as the hurricane season moves forward.
The tide chart shows a high at 8:16 AM, a low at 4:02 PM, followed by another high at 10:22 PM. The next low tide will occur early tomorrow at 2:46 AM. The sun rose at 5:19 AM and will set at 6:30 PM, while the moon will set this evening at 6:07 PM after rising at 4:15 AM.
Meteorologists are encouraging residents to stay alert for sudden changes in weather, especially in the afternoon and evening when thunderstorms are more likely to develop.
