By Belize Live News Staff: The National Celebrations Commission (NCC) today officially launched the theme for Belize’s 44th anniversary of independence: “Bze@44: Stronger Together, Rising Forever.” The announcement was made during a ceremony held at the House of Culture in Belize City.
This year’s winning theme was submitted by Holly Vasquez of San Ignacio Town, Cayo and David Nicholas Peña of San Andres, Corozal. Both were recognized for their contributions, which reflect a message of national strength, unity, and resilience.
The launch event featured remarks from Francis Fonseca, Chair of the NCC and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Culture, and Immigration. Also delivering messages were Belize City Mayor Bernard Wagner, BTB’s Director of Marketing and Communications Michelle Bowers-Flowers, and Deputy Mayor Eluide Miller.
Officials emphasized that the 2024 theme embodies the spirit of a nation rising together in solidarity through shared struggles and triumphs. As the country prepares for its annual September celebrations, the message is clear: Belize is not only proud of its past but determined to move forward—stronger and united.
