GOB launches 'Buy Belizean' campaign to boost local businesses

By Belize Live News Staff: The Government of Belize has officially launched the Buy Belizean Campaign and its new Loyalty Program Passport at the National Agriculture and Trade Show 2025.

Spearheaded by the Office of the Prime Minister and BELTRAIDE, the initiative is designed to boost the visibility and profitability of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) nationwide. Consumers are encouraged to shop local and receive stamps in a passport book for each qualifying purchase—those stamps then enter them into raffles and reward giveaways.

“This campaign isn’t just about buying products. It’s about investing in Belizean communities and shaping a resilient economy,” said BELTRAIDE Executive Director Ishmael Quiroz.

Passports are available for purchase at BELTRAIDE’s offices or booths at the Trade Show. A wide range of businesses—hotels, restaurants, artists, and more—are invited to join the program and gain exposure through the National MSME Directory.
