By Belize Live News Staff: Placencia police are investigating the death of Fred Mason Hoffman, an American citizen whose body was discovered late Thursday night along the Placencia Main Road.
Officers arrived on the scene just before 10 p.m. and found Hoffman’s lifeless body wrapped in a sheet. Initial reports suggest he was last seen alive that same morning, but there are still more questions than answers.
At this stage, it is too early to determine whether foul play is involved. A post-mortem examination is pending and will be critical in determining what led to Hoffman’s death.
Police continue to canvass the neighborhood for leads and are urging the public to assist with any information that may help the investigation.
