By Belize Live News Staff: Tensions erupted in San Felipe today when citizen journalist Joseph Ryan Budna was publicly attacked during one of his street-style video shoots. The footage shows Budna attempting to evade a man aggressively striking him with what looked like a horse whip.
While no official motive for the incident has been confirmed, Budna’s brand of in-your-face, unsanctioned reporting has made him a polarizing figure across Belize. His confrontational tactics have frequently led to explosive interactions, including past altercations with police officers.
Budna has confirmed he intends to make a formal report to police. No arrest had been made at the time of this report.
