BTIA celebrates 40 years of championing Belizean tourism

By Belize Live News Staff: On April 26, the Belize Tourism Industry Association (BTIA) will celebrate 40 years of championing Belize’s tourism industry, solidifying its place as a cornerstone organization since its founding in 1985.

Throughout the decades, BTIA has been at the forefront of key initiatives, launching major events like BETEX, producing the influential Destination Belize magazine, and advocating for policies that support tourism development while promoting sustainability and local community benefits. Today, the association boasts close to 300 members who represent the dynamic and growing face of Belizean tourism.

BTIA President Efren Perez emphasized the association’s enduring commitment to progress, while Executive Director Linette Canto highlighted BTIA’s forward-looking strategy centered on collaboration and innovation.

As part of its 40th Anniversary celebrations, BTIA is offering a limited-time 20% discount on membership fees for both new and renewing members, encouraging more stakeholders to join the movement that has helped define Belize’s tourism success story.
