By Belize Live News Staff: Police are investigating a robbery that occurred late Saturday night near The Red Hut Inn in the Bella Vista area, involving a foreign national who was allegedly held at gunpoint and robbed by three individuals.
According to the initial police report, the incident took place between 10:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. on April 19, 2025. The victim, a 32-year-old software developer from the Czech Republic, told officers he was walking toward his hotel when he was approached by three dark-complexioned men. One of the suspects reportedly pulled out a black handgun and pointed it at him.
A brief struggle ensued, during which the assailants stole several personal items, including a Google Pixel cellphone (Mexican number 9871032314) valued at $600 USD, a bag, power bank, and charger—bringing the total loss to approximately $710 USD.
The suspects reportedly fled the scene on two separate motorcycles, which had been parked near the entrance to the street.
Police responded promptly to the report, and a Scene of Crime Technician processed and photographed the area. Officers noted that several surveillance cameras were visible nearby, though the footage had not yet been reviewed at the time of reporting.
A formal statement from the victim is still pending as investigations continue.
Authorities are encouraging anyone who may have witnessed the robbery or who lives in the Bella Vista area to come forward with information.
