By Belize Live News Staff: Police are investigating a burglary at a residence located at the corner of New Road and Victoria Street in Belize City, where a high-powered firearm and ammunition were reported stolen from an upper flat that had been unoccupied for several months.
The complainant reported that the burglary occurred sometime between July 2024 and April 21, 2025, at a two-story cream-colored concrete building at #105 New Road and Victoria Street. The upper flat, previously occupied by a relative who now resides in the United States, was discovered burglarized around 9:43 p.m. on April 21.
Missing from the residence was a black 9mm Glock pistol, along with two magazines and 40 live rounds of ammunition. The firearm, valued at approximately $5,000 BZD, is registered to the relative. The serial number is currently unknown.
A Scenes of Crime Technician processed the scene and confirmed that entry had been gained by prying open burglar bars on a southern-facing window. No suspects have been identified, and the stolen items have not been recovered.
The investigation is ongoing.
