Ladyville resident escapes attempted shooting; Police seek two suspects

By Belize Live News Staff: Police are investigating a report of aggravated assault in Ladyville after a man narrowly escaped an alleged firearm attack on Sunday, April 13. The incident reportedly occurred near Egbert Quilter Street and Jackson Avenue around 4:30 p.m.

The victim, a Belizean prison officer, told authorities he was confronted twice by two individuals he knows personally—Camryn Lozano and Zerick Anderson. The first confrontation allegedly involved one of the suspects pulling out a firearm and threatening him.

Later that same evening, as the man made his way back home, the same suspects reportedly pursued him on a motorcycle. One of them allegedly pointed the weapon at him and attempted to fire, but the firearm misfired twice.

The man was not physically harmed and immediately filed a report with the Ladyville Police Department. Although the area was canvassed and statements taken, police say no useful information has yet been gathered. They continue to search for the suspects as the case remains open.
