Belize City sees spike in violence as three killed, more injured in shootings

By Belize Live News Staff: Gun violence continues to spiral out of control in the old capital as three people were murdered and two others seriously injured in a wave of shootings that started Saturday night.

Reports indicate that multiple gunshots rang out on Fabers Road just hours after Mark Usher Jr. was shot in front of his home on Saturday. Usher later succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH).

Since his murder, there have been at least two more fatal shootings, leading authorities to suspect that a deadly gang feud is escalating. Police have increased patrols in hot zones as they work to contain the violence.

Belize Live News has received credible reports that more shots were fired in Belize City on Sunday night, but it remains unclear if anyone was injured in this latest incident.

As the situation remains tense, police is on high alert, bracing for possible retaliation attacks.

This is a developing story, and updates will follow as more details emerge.
