By Belize Live News Staff: A relatively moist east to northeasterly airflow continues to affect Belize, bringing occasional cloud cover and scattered showers across parts of the country today, February 2, 2025. The Belize Meteorological Service forecasts that while much of the day will see warm and fair conditions, a few showers are likely to develop, mainly over central and southern areas. This pattern is expected to persist into the night.
Marine conditions will remain choppy, with winds from the east-northeast blowing at 5-15 knots. Waves are estimated to be between 3 and 5 feet, meaning small craft operators should navigate with caution.
Temperatures remain typical for this time of year, with the coast experiencing highs of 85°F (29°C) and lows of 77°F (25°C). Inland regions will reach up to 88°F (31°C) during the day before dropping to 72°F (22°C) at night. Meanwhile, in the hills, conditions will be slightly cooler, ranging from 78°F (26°C) to 66°F (19°C).
Looking ahead, Monday and Monday night are expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with showers becoming more isolated as moisture levels decrease.
The tidal schedule for today includes a low tide at 6:51 AM, a high tide at 12:47 PM, and another low tide at 7:20 PM. Tomorrow’s early high tide is expected at 1:19 AM. Sunrise occurred at 6:24 AM, with sunset anticipated at 5:48 PM. The moon will rise at 9:25 AM and set at 10:04 PM.
Forecaster Tareek Matthews notes that while some parts of the country will experience passing showers today, conditions are expected to gradually improve. Residents in central and southern Belize should prepare for intermittent rainfall but can still expect warm temperatures throughout the day.
