By Belize Live News Staff: The Social Security Board (SSB) has undergone a leadership shift, with Dr. Leroy Almendarez stepping down as CEO and Jerome Palma assuming the role of acting CEO.
In a press release, the SSB recognized Almendarez’s contributions during his tenure and extended best wishes for his future endeavors. Almendarez described his time at the organization as an honor, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and the SSB’s mission of social protection.
The reason for the transition was not disclosed, but Palma’s appointment signals a new direction for the SSB. The board has not yet announced whether a permanent CEO will be named.
