By Belize Liv News Staff: Belize City police have arrested and charged 22-year-old construction worker Peter Amado Lara for the murder of Mark Waight, also known as “Pito.”
Waight was found dead on Saturday, January 25, in a drain on Central American Boulevard after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds. 33-year-old Francine Herbert, who was also shot during the incident, remains hospitalized in critical condition.
Following police investigations, Lara was detained and formally charged with murder on Monday, January 27. Authorities have not yet disclosed a motive, but they continue to gather evidence related to the case.
Lara remains in police custody as the investigation unfolds.
