By Belize Live News Staff: A burglary in Sandhill Village took a dangerous turn on Monday when armed intruders fired at a neighbor before fleeing into nearby bushes.
Around 12:00 p.m., the homeowner received a call from his common-law wife, alerting him that someone was breaking into their house. A neighbor who checked the scene saw two men leaving the home and was fired upon by one of the suspects. The neighbor returned fire but was unable to stop them from escaping.
Police later arrived at the residence, processed the scene, and recovered several stolen items. Investigators confirmed that entry was made through the back door. The suspects, who remain unidentified, are still at large.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward as investigations continue.
