By Belize Live News Staff: Police are investigating the fatal stabbing of George Brown, known locally as “Guru,” which occurred earlier today in Hopkins Village, Stann Creek District. Authorities report that Brown, the second homicide victim in Belize this year, was allegedly attacked by his brother-in-law during a domestic dispute.
Family members mourned his passing on social media, with one message saying, “RIP cuz dey chance u bway,” and another reading, “How ih hurt so bad breda breda I love u.”
This incident follows Belize’s first homicide of the year, which occurred over the weekend. Godfrey Hyde Jr., a 59-year-old fisherman from Belize City, was found dead from gunshot wounds at a fishing camp on Turneffe Atoll.
As police continue their investigation, Hopkins Village remains in shock over the violent death of Brown, a figure well-known in the community.
