Sunny skies and isolated showers expected in Belize today

Fair and stable weather continues across Belize as light winds dominate

By Belize Live News Staff: Belizeans can look forward to another day of fair weather conditions as sunny skies with a few cloudy intervals dominate the forecast for January 5, 2025. According to the Belize Meteorological Service, isolated showers are possible throughout the country, with a slightly higher chance of rainfall over the south during the morning hours. Tonight, skies will turn partly cloudy, with minimal shower activity expected.

Marine conditions remain moderate to rough due to east-northeast winds blowing at 10-20 knots. Wave heights are forecast between 4 and 7 feet, prompting a reminder to small craft operators to navigate cautiously in rougher seas.

Temperatures today will be seasonally comfortable. Coastal areas are set to reach highs of 82°F (28°C) during the day and drop to 72°F (22°C) at night. Inland regions will peak at 84°F (29°C), with lows of 66°F (19°C). In the hills, daytime temperatures will top out at 68°F (20°C), with nighttime lows falling to 61°F (16°C).

The outlook for Monday and Monday night suggests partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated showers in inland areas during the afternoon. However, rainfall activity is expected to increase later in the night, particularly in northern and coastal regions.

The tidal schedule for today shows a low tide at 8:11 AM, a high tide at 2:15 PM, another low tide at 8:36 PM, and an early high tide tomorrow at 2:29 AM. Sunrise occurred at 6:24 AM, with sunset scheduled for 5:32 PM. The moon will rise at 10:47 AM and set at 11:12 PM.

Forecaster Tareek Matthews advises residents to enjoy the predominantly fair conditions while remaining alert for isolated showers, particularly in the south this morning. Mariners should remain cautious due to rough seas and gusty winds.
