By Belize Live News Staff: Belizean authorities are investigating the disappearance of 36-year-old construction worker Mason Patnett, who was reported missing by his partner on Sunday afternoon.
Shene Moody, 20, visited the Ladyville Police Station at 3:00 PM to report that Patnett had not been seen since Friday, January 3. According to Moody, she left their home in Vista Del Mar, Ladyville, at 12:00 PM that day to travel to Placencia, leaving Patnett behind. Upon her return on Sunday, January 5, at around noon, she found the front door ajar, the bedroom air conditioner running, and Patnett nowhere to be found. Moody stated that her attempts to contact him went unanswered and that her last communication with him was a video call on Saturday evening, January 4, at 7:30 PM. She also noted that the internet modem was missing from their residence.
Patnett is described as being of light brown complexion, slim build, shoulder-length curly hair, and approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall. He has a rose tattoo on the palm of his right hand and another tattoo on his left hand. He was last seen wearing a green shirt and green camouflage cargo shorts.
Police canvassed the area, speaking to neighbors and reviewing surveillance footage, but no leads were uncovered. Scenes of Crime technicians and photographed the residence, observing no signs of forced entry or disturbance. Authorities have circulated a recent photograph of Patnett and issued a message to all formations seeking assistance in locating him. The investigation remains ongoing.
