Unitedville water reservoir accident leaves Chairman Samuel Mendoza critical, another injured

A tragic accident at the Unitedville water reservoir on Friday night has left village Chairman Samuel Mendoza in critical condition and another individual injured.

Chairman Mendoza and the village water maintenance worker were conducting routine cleaning inside the reservoir when they were exposed to a dangerous gaseous substance. Mendoza lost consciousness inside the reservoir, while the maintenance worker managed to climb out and seek help before also collapsing outside.

Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, providing medical assistance and transporting both men to the hospital. Chairman Mendoza was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH), where he remains unconscious and in critical condition. The second victim has since regained consciousness and been discharged from the hospital.

We ask the public to join us in praying for his recovery and offering support to his family during this difficult time.

BLN will continue to monitor and report on this story. Our thoughts are with Chairman Mendoza and all those impacted by this unfortunate incident.
