By Belize Live News Staff: A pair of robbers targeted a casino employee in broad daylight on Thursday, just as he exited Heritage Bank on Princess Margaret Drive, directly across from the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH).
The incident unfolded around midday when the robbers, riding a motorcycle, approached the employee. Reports indicate that the employee was carrying a money bag, likely en route to make a deposit. The robbers allegedly snatched the bag and attempted to escape on their motorcycle. However, their getaway was short-lived. They lost control of the bike near a pedestrian crosswalk, forcing them to abandon it and flee the scene on foot.
Authorities have since recovered the abandoned motorcycle and are searching for the suspects, who have been identified through surveillance footage. The police are urging anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues.
