By Belize Live News Staff: The Belize Meteorological Service has issued its latest weather update for December 20, 2024, forecasting relatively moist and unstable conditions across the country. Today’s forecast highlights a mix of sunny skies and cloudy spells during the day, with partly cloudy to cloudy skies expected tonight. Isolated showers or thunderstorms will occur in most areas, with slightly increased activity anticipated over southern and offshore regions. By tonight, these showers will concentrate primarily along the coast and offshore areas.
For marine activities, conditions are generally favorable with light northerly winds blowing at 10 to 15 knots. The sea state will remain light with wave heights between 2 to 4 feet. Temperatures along the coast are forecasted to reach 83°F (28°C) during the day and dip to 73°F (23°C) at night. Inland temperatures will peak at 85°F (29°C) and fall to 71°F (22°C), while the hills will experience cooler conditions, ranging from 70°F (21°C) in the daytime to 64°F (18°C) overnight.
The outlook for Saturday and Saturday night suggests partly cloudy skies with isolated showers, mainly offshore. Residents and visitors should note today’s tide schedule, which includes a low tide at 8:15 AM followed by a high tide at 2:11 PM. A second low tide will occur at 7:37 PM, with the next high tide expected early tomorrow morning at 1:32 AM. The sun rose at 6:18 AM and will set at 5:23 PM, while the moon will set at 10:38 AM and rise again at 10:32 PM.
