Belize mourns the loss of 18-year-old Alex Bainton: A life of talent and promise cut short

By Belize Live News Staff: Belize mourns the heartbreaking loss of 18-year-old Alex Bainton, who tragically passed away after suffering massive brain trauma in a road accident involving the Ocean Academy Basketball Team near Orange Walk. Alex had been in a coma since the incident and succumbed to his injuries today.

Alex was not only a talented athlete but a shining star in his community. He was a fisherman, a basketball player, a volleyball enthusiast, an open-water certified diver, and an honor student—a young man with immense potential and a heart full of passion.

His loss leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. Belize stands united in grief, sending heartfelt condolences to Alex’s family, friends, and the Ocean Academy community during this difficult time.

Rest in peace, Alex Bainton—you will always be remembered as a bright light gone too soon.
