Belize enjoys sunshine today, showers expected Sunday

Warm and sunny skies continue across Belize

By Belize Live News Staff: Residents and visitors in Belize can enjoy a mostly sunny Saturday with clear to partly cloudy skies overnight. While a few isolated showers may occur, most areas will remain dry. However, a change in the weather pattern is expected for Sunday.

Sunday will bring cloudier skies with an increased chance of showers and thunderstorms. These showers are expected to be isolated initially, but will become more frequent along the coast during the afternoon and over the south Sunday night.

Temperatures will remain warm throughout the weekend. Coastal areas can expect highs in the mid-80s Fahrenheit (around 29 degrees Celsius) and lows in the mid-70s Fahrenheit (around 24 degrees Celsius). Inland areas will be slightly warmer, with highs reaching the upper 80s Fahrenheit (around 31 degrees Celsius) and lows in the mid-60s Fahrenheit (around 18 degrees Celsius).

Marine conditions are favorable for boaters and water enthusiasts, with moderate northerly winds of 10-15 knots creating light chop and waves of 2-4 feet.

The good news for those concerned about tropical weather is that no cyclone formation is expected in the North Atlantic, Caribbean Sea, or Gulf of Mexico over the next 48 hours.

This forecast was provided by Tareek Matthews of the Belize Meteorological Service.
