By Belize Live News Staff: Prime Minister John Briceño has stated that he plans to watch The Honorable Shyne, a documentary featuring the Leader of the Opposition, Shyne Barrow. The film, which premieres on Hulu, has garnered significant attention as Barrow tours the media promoting its release.
Speaking about the documentary during a press engagement, Briceño said he has no personal envy toward Barrow, who has been focusing on his U.S.-based political and public relations endeavors. “He’s making waves in the U.S., and if that helps him, good for him,” Briceño remarked.
The Prime Minister noted that the coverage of Barrow in the U.S. aligns with his past association with high-profile figures such as rapper P. Diddy and events from Barrow’s previous legal troubles. “It’s good theater for him and great marketing, but at the end of the day, Belize is my home, and I’m not going anywhere,” Briceño added.
Briceño hinted that he is curious to see how the documentary portrays Barrow and others. “When it’s out, I’ll sit down with a bag of popcorn and see how they spin things,” he said, suggesting the documentary might offer a selective narrative.
Shyne Barrow has scheduled a local premiere for the documentary this weekend, aiming to connect with Belizean audiences amid his growing international profile.
