By Belize Live News Staff: Later that night, a violent altercation near the Cemetery Area of Independence Village, southern Belize resulted in the death of 28-year-old Selvin Humes. Police responded to the scene around 9:00 PM and discovered Humes with multiple stab wounds. He was rushed to the Independence Polyclinic, where he was pronounced dead at 9:50 PM.
Authorities have detained one suspect in connection with the incident. Police say their investigation is ongoing, and Humes’ body awaits a post-mortem examination at the Southern Regional Hospital Morgue.
