By Belize Live News Staff: The Cabinet has endorsed the establishment of a Criminal Justice Board, a multi-sectoral body designed to address critical issues in Belize’s criminal justice system. The board will undertake a comprehensive review to develop practical solutions aimed at improving efficiency and fairness.
As part of these reforms, Cabinet approved amendments to the Senior Court’s Act, which will enable public advertisements for substituted services. This legislative change is expected to reduce the backlog of inferior appeals, ensuring timely justice and better court access for appellants.
