Hugo Patt denies association with recent Alliance for Democracy event

By Belize Live News Staff: In a formal statement issued today, Hugo Patt, First Deputy Leader of the United Democratic Party (UDP), distanced himself from an event held by the Alliance for Democracy on Sunday. In his release, Patt emphasized that he has no affiliation with the event in question, underscoring his continued loyalty and commitment to the UDP.

“I, Hugo Patt, would like to clearly state that I am not associated with the event held this past Sunday by the Alliance for Democracy,” Patt asserted in his statement.

He reaffirmed his leadership role within the UDP, noting that he continues to serve as the duly elected 1st Deputy Party Leader, alongside Party Leader Shyne Barrow, Chairman Michael Peyrefitte, and Deputy Chairman Alberto August. Patt and his colleagues were elected at the National Party Convention on August 13, 2023.

“As a dedicated and loyal member of the United Democratic Party, I will continue to work and advocate for our party and the people of Corozal North,” Patt concluded.

His statement comes at a time when party unity and leadership remain critical ahead of Belize’s next general elections. Patt’s public clarification signals a clear commitment to his party and his role within the UDP leadership team.
