By Belize Live News Staff: Disney has revealed the trailer for an exciting new documentary, The Honorable Shyne, which delves into the remarkable journey of Moses “Shyne” Barrow. Known globally as a Grammy Award-winning rap artist, Shyne first made waves in the music industry during the late 1990s. However, his career took a sharp turn in 2001 following a highly publicized nightclub shooting incident involving music mogul Sean “Puffy” Combs. Shyne was convicted and served a decade-long prison sentence while Combs was acquitted.
Upon his release, Shyne shifted his focus from music to a new path—politics. He returned to Belize, where he would ultimately rise to become the leader of the United Democratic Party (UDP) and serve as the Leader of the Opposition in Belize’s House of Representatives.
This documentary provides an intimate exploration of Shyne’s transformation from music icon to political leader, showcasing how he has embraced his role in guiding Belize toward a brighter, more prosperous future. It reflects on his personal evolution through fame, legal battles, and his renewed purpose as a political figure in his homeland.
The Honorable Shyne will debut on Hulu and Disney+ in the U.S. on November 18, 2024. Details for international release are still pending.
