By Belize Live News Staff: Get ready for more rain, Belize! The National Meteorological Service says the wet weather isn’t going anywhere just yet. Expect cloudy skies with showers, periods of rain, and even some thunderstorms across the country.
The coast will see the rain first this morning, with showers moving inland by the afternoon. Things should dry up a bit tonight as the showers move back towards the coast.
Despite the rain, it will stay warm with highs of 85°F (29°C) on the coast and 87°F (31°C) inland.
Boaters Beware: A small craft caution is in effect. Gusty winds and rough seas are possible near heavy showers and thunderstorms, so small craft operators should be careful.
Tropical Update: The Meteorological Service is keeping an eye on two weather systems that could potentially develop: one east of the Leeward Islands and another over the western Caribbean Sea. Right now, the chance of either becoming a tropical depression in the next 48 hours is low.
Looking Ahead: More of the same is expected Friday and Friday night, with cloudy skies and a few showers and thunderstorms. The rain will likely pick up in intensity and cover more of the country by Friday afternoon.
