Small craft caution in effect as Belize enjoys another sunny day

Fair weather continues across Belize as Hurricane Melissa weakens over Cuba

By Belize Live News Staff: Good morning, Belize!  We’re waking up to another beautiful day across the country with sunshine and warm temperatures.  But before you head out to enjoy the weather, be aware that a small craft caution is in effect for our coastal waters.

The National Meteorological Service is reporting gusty winds and rough seas today, with waves expected to reach 4-7 feet.  This could make conditions challenging for smaller vessels, so boaters are urged to exercise caution.

Meanwhile,  further out in the Atlantic,  we’re keeping an eye on Hurricane Leslie and Hurricane Milton.

Leslie is a powerful storm with 105 mph winds,  located far out in the Atlantic,  posing no immediate threat to Belize.

Closer to home, Hurricane Milton is currently churning off the coast of Florida with 85 mph winds.  While Milton is not projected to directly impact Belize,  the National Meteorological Service is closely monitoring its path.

Back here at home,  expect a mainly sunny day with only isolated showers.  Temperatures will climb to a high of 88°F along the coast and a toasty 91°F inland.

So, enjoy the sunshine, Belize, but stay safe on the water!  We’ll continue to bring you the latest weather updates throughout the day right here on Belize Live News.
