By Belize Live News Staff: Good morning, Belize! It’s a beautiful Wednesday morning across the Jewel. We’re waking up to clear skies and calm conditions, but the National Meteorological Service is keeping a close watch on Hurricane Leslie and Hurricane Milton out in the Atlantic.
Right now, it’s all about enjoying this gorgeous weather. Expect plenty of sunshine today with a few fluffy clouds drifting by. Temperatures will be warm, hitting 91 degrees Fahrenheit on the coast, 92 inland, and a comfortable 80 in the hills.
Heading to the beach? Expect choppy waters with waves around 3 to 5 feet. We might see a few isolated showers or thunderstorms pop up, but nothing to worry about just yet.
For those who like to plan their day around the sun, it rose at 5:44 this morning and will set at 5:34 this evening. Tonight, clear skies will continue with temperatures dropping to 79 degrees on the coast, 74 inland, and a cool 66 in the hills.
Now, let’s talk about those hurricanes. Leslie is currently spinning way out in the Atlantic, over 1000 miles east-northeast of the Northern Leeward Islands. It’s packing 80 mph winds, but thankfully, it’s not posing a direct threat to Belize right now.
Hurricane Milton, however, is a different story. It’s intensified into a major hurricane with 155 mph winds and is currently a major threat to Florida.
While we’re not expecting any direct impacts from these storms at the moment, the Met Service is urging everyone to stay alert. These hurricanes can change direction, so it’s important to stay updated on the latest forecasts.
