Woman fights off intruder during aggravated burglary in Lords Bank Village

Toledo District family conflict leads to stabbing, victim in critical condition

By Belize Live News Staff: A woman in Lords Bank Village, Belize District, fought off an intruder during an aggravated burglary at her home early Saturday morning, police said.

The 24-year-old woman told police she was awakened by a noise and then attacked by a man she identified as Phillip Guzman. During a struggle, the woman managed to grab a knife and stab Guzman twice in the upper back. She then escaped the house and called for help. Guzman fled the scene.

The woman sustained minor scratches during the incident. Police are investigating the aggravated burglary, but no arrests have been made.
